Job Description: AVINA Clean Hydrogen is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to lead the development and implementation of hydrogen/ammonia and derivative fuel projects. This position will play a critical role in our next growth phase, driving forward the engineering, construction, and commissioning processes using renewable resources for green hydrogen and clean fuel projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of hydrogen and clean fuel infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of hydrogen/ammonia production, storage, and distribution systems.
- Coordinate activities with internal project/engineering teams and external FEED/EPC contractors.
- Interface with permitting agencies, contractors, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Engage with renewable energy companies and power grids to secure project input power.
- Collaborate with county officials to secure water supply for projects.
- Negotiate and coordinate with technology suppliers, including electrolyzer, storage, and compression companies.
- Manage project schedules, resolve issues, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Assist in developing project financial models, budgetary estimates, and proposals in response to RFPs.
Required Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the energy sector.
- Proven track record of managing capital projects exceeding USD 25 million.
- Experience with new technologies in the renewable energy or hydrogen sector.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deliverables and timelines.
- Proficiency in project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and MS Project.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in oil & gas sector project management.
- Experience with hydrogen, ammonia, or SAF development projects.
- Ability to travel 100% of the time to deployment locations as required.
